Minerals and crystals should be handled with care. Although they are stones, they can be soft, brittle, change color in bright light or heat, react when dried out, or weather when wet. You should always wash your hands after handling stone, especially before eating. Dust and fibers may be released from the stone during handling and should not be inhaled. We do not recommend ingestion e.g. through a water bath. Like flake salt (crystalline NaCl), minerals can be soluble in liquids and some substances can be directly harmful.
