It is often the materials that are the source of my creativity. My design is inspired by nature. I am drawn to natural patterns in my surroundings. I want the jewelry to feel right for its wearer. I mostly design the pieces, sometimes I`ve worked on the stone, sometimes I only combine parts that I`ve gathered from around the world, sometimes I`ve worked the silver.

Some pieces just want to be made. It can be the simplest setting, but then It`s the stone that talkes.

The story behind my brand JOD : In 1976 I was born straight into the stone-world. My parents had opened Sweden's first rock shop/stone store back in 1973. Precious stones and minerals have therefore always been the most natural thing in the world for me. I spent a lot of my time as a child at Geoart in Tysta Marigången at Tegelbacken. While mom and dad worked, I sat in the back rooms and made my own jewelry from what I got access to. I often made imaginative creations of stones and crystals mixed with nuts, paper clips and various packing materials. It was heaven for me. Right after high school in 1995, I started my own shop: The Mine of Gems. In 1998 I went to the States and studied gemmology

My upbringing in my parents' rock shop with grinding equipment, collectors cabinets, setting parts, loose stones, tools, mineral, rough stones, shelf meters of tumbled stone in all colors developed in me a love and fascination for the materials at hand. I continue to be inspired in the same spirit.
