Bergslag slag is an amorphous byproduct (glass) from Sweden’s historic iron production. The stone measures approx. 41 x 27 mm Bergslag stone, also known as Bergslag slag or slag stone, is a byproduct of iron production in blast furnaces and smelting furnaces. It was formed when iron ore was smelted with charcoal, and the blue hue results from slow cooling, which gives it a glass-like, iridescent structure. Cobalt and chromium are responsible for the blue hues.
